Through a dedicted domestic program and import program, DLJ Produce specializes in filling both the apple and pear categories while in season. Be it imported pears from Argentina, Chile or California pears from the river and mountain district, quality is always the main focus. DLJ's apple program consists of imported Chilean apples, as well as fresh apples through the entire harvest in California. No matter the country of origin or specialized program needed for your customers, DLJ is on your side to maxamize sales in the pear and apple catagory with consistent supplies.

CARE AND HANDLING
Optimum storage temperature for pears is 32 degrees F, 60 to 70 F to ripen pears. Temperatures above 80 F can cause heat damage Optimum storage temperature for apples is 32 to 34 degrees F to extend shelf life, mainly in controlled atomosphere. Both produce ethylene and should be keep at 90 - 95 % humidity. Average shelf life is 60 to 90 days or longer at controlled atmosphere. Russeting on peats is a common characteristic and a a sing of some the best - flavored pears. Minor scars and blemishes do not affect eating quality.
