Food Safety Practices
Mission statement:
DLJ Produce is committed to distribute the safest
fresh produce available. Our HAACP accreditation,
Scientific Certification Systems (SCS)certification,
Primus Labs certification, USDA inspections, internal
and third party audits support our successful food
safety program.
For example:
- Our modern facility is manned by DLJ personnel, who are thoroughly trained in the proper handling of produce and operate in a HACCP – certified environment by S.C.S (Scientific Certification Systems) and Primuslabs.com with a Superior rating for both U.S and European food safety standards.
- Only DLJ Produce employees and USDA inspectors are allowed to handle product.
- All cooler temperatures are monitored on an hourly basis.
- All refrigeration storage areas have temperature alarms that notify key personnel should the temperature rise above desired levels.
- The offices and warehouse are protected by a state of the art security alarm system complete with cameras and access control systems. The 40,000 s.f. refrigerated warehouse has excellent lighting to allow easy and positive identification of product, personnel and visitors by the surveillance system, which can be operated on site or remotely on a 24/7 basis.
